Dr. Ellyn Johnson is a psychiatrist with over 14 years of experience providing compassionate, evidence-based mental health care. She specializes in psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and medical cannabis consultations for patients in Maryland, Washington, D.C., and Virginia via a secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform.

Originally from Pittsburgh, PA, Dr. Johnson earned her medical degree from Case Western Reserve University and completed her psychiatry and neurology residency at the Medical College of Georgia.

As a queer, Black woman psychiatrist, Dr. Johnson is committed to creating a safe, inclusive space for people from all backgrounds, especially those from marginalized or underserved communities. Her holistic approach combines traditional psychiatry with alternative, evidence-supported options like medical cannabis certification (available in MD and VA), empowering patients to find the treatment plan that works best for them.

Karmen is the admin, logistics, scheduling, and all non-medical inquiries office managerish person behind the scenes. In their previous life, Karmen worked in HR doing benefits administration, operations, and compliance work.
